Mary Muldoon - USPA Circuit Governor nomination statement

I, Mary Muldoon, am running for the Eastern Circuit Governor.  I am writing to ask for your vote. I have been a board member of the Equine Welfare Committee of the USPA since 2015.

As a lifelong professional horsewoman, I feel I have the experience in the many facets of polo. My background in the polo world encompasses experience in selecting, training, and selling horses for polo, which enabled me to buy my farm Red Eagle Ranch (polo ponies have been good to me!)

I’ve enjoyed training and selling horses to rated players, as well as to students of Red Eagle Polo Training Center, successor of the Potomac Polo School, the oldest continuously operated polo school in the USA. It is a joy to introduce students to the action, excitement, grace, and partnership between horse and rider that touches deep in their soul.

As a player, I have played polo in the United States, Argentina, Chile, England, Spain, and Pakistan. I was the first woman to win a National USPA polo tournament (Association Cup 8 Goal) while playing on Potomac Polo Club’s home team-.- Gone Away Farms. In 2007, I was captain of the North American team in the first women’s Snow Polo Team Championship in Bariloche, Argentina. I have been fortunate to have played on numerous winning teams in Circuit and National USPA 4, 6, 8, and 12-goal tournaments. In 2012, I led the Ona Polo Team to the finals in the IX José O’Neill Ladies Cup, in Figueres, Spain, and returned to Spain in 2014 to compete with my husband in a mixed tournament. Today, I continue to train horses, teach and play polo.
